Mark Varian is the sixth member of the Gallin family to lead John Gallin & Son since the firm was founded in 1886. A 30-year veteran of the industry, Mark began his career as a timekeeper and field clerk. He has worked in every aspect of the business, from Mason Tender to Superintendent, from project management to heading up estimating and purchasing. From 1986 thru 1990 Mark ran the Rockefeller Center office for Gallin, providing a full range of construction management services to its midtown clients.

Since taking the helm, Mark has sought to clearly distinguish the firm from its competitors by emphasizing its highly collaborative work style. Mark’s goal is for every client to view Gallin as a member of its team and an advocate for its interests. Under Mark’s leadership, Gallin has frequently become involved in projects during site selection. This early-on collaboration has put the firm in a position to ensure that projects are completed on time — with a minimum of expense and hassle. The strategy has been an overwhelming success for the firm.

During Mark’s tenure there has been a significant growth in the business. He has personally been instrumental in establishing long-term relationships with some of John Gallin & Son’s most prestigious clients. As an industry leader, promoting safer job sites and environmentally responsible construction practices, Mark has positioned John Gallin & Son to meet the challenges of the 21st Century.
