Peter Welfel has a long history of construction experience, beginning when he worked carpentry jobs with his grandfather during high school. Peter put himself through college working construction, and taught woodworking and drafting for eight years, during which time he earned his M.A. in Industrial Technology. He eventually started his own residential construction business and then progressed into commercial work. In 1997, Peter joined John Gallin & Son as Superintendent. He was promoted to Vice President and Project Manager in 2006. Peter continues his professional development by frequently attending seminars, workshops and certification classes. He recently became a LEED accredited professional, having developed special expertise in environmentally-friendly construction techniques. Role and Responsibilities As Project Manager, Peter has total responsibility for seeing that the project is completed successfully. Working closely with the client and the architect, he plans and schedules the work. Along with his Project Superintendent he then takes that schedule and makes it happen. Peter works directly with the architect and engineer — and spends a great deal of time examining the fine details in construction documents — to ensure that the project is being completed exactly as planned. As the primary liaison among the client, architect, Gallin management, and subcontractors, Peter coordinates the physical construction of the site and keeps all parties in contact. In addition to giving the client and architect updates of day-to-day progress, he meets with them weekly to review the project’s status and ensure that things are moving forward quickly and smoothly — on time and on budget. Peter, like all Gallin employees, is open and candid with clients in an effort to earn their trust. All of his clients view Peter as an integral part of their team, a leader whose only concern is the successful outcome of every project. |
