1133 AoA Plaza

For some stylish New York office towers, the design aesthetic, comforts, and amenities are on display before you even enter the building. 1133 Avenue of the Americas is a great example of that. Durst contracted Studios Architecture and Gallin to elevate a large public plaza at this midtown property. The result is an inviting gathering spot where both tenants and public are welcome. Poured concrete creates a clean, bold look that extends from the integrated precast planters and benches to stylish light poles and water fountains. Other highlights include backlit metal slatted walls, bike racks, and new underground plumbing and electrical systems. During the two-phase build-out temporary partitions and ramps were installed to minimize disruption and maximize safety around the entrances. Beautiful plantings were the crowning touch, bringing a pop of color to the busy avenue.
